The Hangover… We’ve all been there and we always vow that it’s the last time… until the next time. Since there’s no one way to recover, check out our list of remedies to help you get back on your feet and feeling like a functioning person again. We’ve also included some myth buster “tips” you should avoid.
Things You SHOULD Do:
Rest: Our bodies are amazing at recovering from whatever damage we’ve done, so your best plan of attach is to sleep it off… if you have time
Alka-Seltzer: Treating hangovers for nearly 80 years. In addition to being a pain reliever, the active ingredient (baking soda) neutralizes stomach acid, helping to settle a queasy stomach.
Multi - Vitamins: They’ll help to restore the nutrients your body may have lost during your binge fest.
Hydrate: Juice, water, tea, Gatorade, Pedialyte… Whatever’s wet and not alcohol… drink that. Dehydration is a huge part of why you wake up feeling like sh*t after knocking a few back.
Food: Believe it or not, asparagus could be your saving grace. It’s amino acids improve the speed of how cells break down alcohol and could actually protect your liver from damage too.
Things You SHOULD NOT Do:
Greasy Food: Greasy Food is everyone’s go-to for a hangover cure but it’s actually more effective if you opt for the slice of pizza and french fries before drinking because fried foods can irritate your stomach, post alcohol.
Sauna: Sweating it out is actually not only a wrong approach but it is also a very dangerous one too. A sauna can potentially disrupt blood flow patterns and if you’re already dehydrated, excessive sweating can be harmful or…. you could die. So, chill on the sauna.
Acetaminophen: In laments terms: Tylenol. Don’t take it. When mixed with alcohol it can really screw up your liver. Instead opt for ibuprofen.
